AGO opinion on confidentiality of executive sessions
The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) issued a new formal opinion on August 3 that provides instruction on the confidentiality of executive sessions. The opinion addresses four questions that periodically arise regarding the release of information learned during an executive session. See MRSC’s opinion summary. More
AGO proposes changes to the Public Records Model Rules
The AGO has proposed updated language to the Public Records Act Model Rules. The proposal is intended to update the rules to reflect developments in statutes, case law and technology since the rules were last revised in 2007. For example, the proposed language addresses the use of personal devices with respect to public records. Written responses to this version of the proposal are due September 29. More
NLC releases Local Economic Conditions 2017 survey
The National League of Cities’ Local Economic Conditions gauges the performance of key local economic indicators from city elected officials. This year’s results are based on responses from 224 cities across various population sizes and locations within and outside metropolitan areas. More
