So you want to be an elected official...
AWC updated this pamphlet for cities to give to candidates and prospective candidates for municipal office. Also, use this handy tips sheet to share important dates, as well as links to the Public Disclosure Commission and Secretary of State.

Tips for human resources
Small City Resource Manual | Chapter 7
The Small City Resource Manual was developed to make life a little easier around city hall, especially for cities of fewer than 5,000 people. Each chapter tackles a different topic and includes relevant resources you may also find helpful. Chapter 7 delves into the hallmarks of strong human resources management systems. We’ll feature other chapters in the coming months or you can review the manual in its entirety here.

Homeless data story map
Homelessness is a critical issue for cities across the state. AWC has collected stories about how cities are responding in this story map. The map includes short clips of locally elected leaders and selected news articles illustrating the scope of the problem and cities' creative solutions.

The number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness is growing and that growth has strained the current social service system. Urge your representatives and senators to support HB 1570, which would help generate greater resources for local governments and service providers to address the needs of this vulnerable population.
