HB 1432, which would consolidate the state’s public health system, was voted out of the House of Representatives on March 2.

HB 1797, the local option housing bill, as well as HB 1570, the document recording fee increase bill, were heard in House Finance and House Appropriations respectively.

Major proposal on homelessness, preempting cities on encampments, many policy changes

SB 5656 from Sen. Mark Miloscia (R-Federal Way) is an incredibly wide-ranging proposal that among other things completely preempts city authority around homeless encampments and creates minimum standards for cities to enforce, without funding.
